Upstreet Craft Brewing

upstreet logo.png

Upstreet Craft Brewing started as most beer companies do -- a few buds sitting around slugging back homebrew and talking big game of dropping it all to open a brewery of our own. Before we knew it we were in too deep to turn back and just kept going until we began to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Turns out it was the best idea we ever had.

Truth be told, this whole ride really started years ago when Hogie brewed his first batch of beer. He kickstarted an obsession back in 2006 that would drive him to create hundreds of batches, brewed in kitchens, barns, backyards and basements; some great ones, some "interesting" ones, and some crazy ones. Many people have tasted Hogie's homebrews over the years, and his party trick became something of a local legend.

It wasn’t until a few years later when we all got together that the pieces all started falling into place and things began to escalate quickly.

Today Upstreet is something we are all very proud of and aim to create more than just great beer over the coming years. We hope you'll appreciate what we love to do and join us in building this brand, this idea, this community.

St. Peter's Brewery

st peters logo.jpg

St. Peter’s Brewery is based at St. Peter South Elmham, near Bungay in Suffolk. The brewery itself was built in 1996 and is housed in an attractive range of traditional former agricultural buildings adjacent to St. Peter’s Hall.

Siting the brewery at St. Peter’s was ideal because of the excellent water quality from a deep bore-hole. Locally malted barley is used, together with Kentish hops, to produce a range of classical English cask-conditioned ales. In addition the company produces a range of superb bottled beers.

St. Peter' brew ‘traditional’ beers (bitters, mild etc.) as well as some more unusual beers such as honey porter and fruit beer. Replicating what was common practice up to the Nineteenth Century to add fruits and honey to beers to create special seasonal brews.

McAdam Cider

McAdam logo.JPG

McAuslan Brewery has launched its McAdam Urban Cider, made exclusively from Quebec-grown apples. While the Brewery has been a firm fixture in the Saint-Henri neighbourhood since 1989, this is the first time it has incorporated not only a cidery into its facilities, but also an urban orchard on a portion of its land.

“The concept of cider has been brewing at McAuslan for some years now,” explained the Brewery’s Vice-President and Director General, Philippe Jaar. “After we planted our very first apple trees, we spent two years not only designing and building the new cidery, but also—and above all—researching and developing the end product. With close to 30 years of history and passion for good taste under our belts, we’re still innovating, and we’ll always be proud of what we produce.”

Cidrerie du Minot

Mystique is the fruit of a beautiful assemble of McIntosh, Cortland, Empire and Spartan apples. Picked at full ripeness, the apples are gently crushed and pressed using a band press.  The resulting apple is fermented at low temperature to preserve its full aroma. Finally, a second fermentation in a fermenting tank gives it the natural effervescence that is unique to this type of sparkling cider.

Six Friends, Six Beers, One Idea

We do not produce beer. We live it the way we are.

"United by the passion for the micro brewery, made by nature with four simple ingredients: water, malt, yeast and hop. We follow directly every aspect of the process: form the farmer to the malt house. We test the beer sixteen times before pouring it into our glasses. We made the choice not to filter nor pasteurise to preserve the naturally complex aromatic flavour."

PEI Brewing

Prince Edward Island Brewing Company - The story began in 1997, when the founding partner, Island entrepreneur and restaurateur Kevin Murphy, established Murphy’s Brewing Company next to the Lone Star Café at 449 University Avenue in Charlottetown.  Fast forward and many awards and accolades along the way, in 2012 Kevin Murphy formed a partnership with another local entrepreneur, Jeff Squires, to build The Prince Edward Island Brewing Company.  The Prince Edward Island Brewing Company was established in February 2012, and immediately an expansion of the brewery was undertaken. Under the leadership of Jeff Squires, the company built a brand new brewery at 96 Kensington Road in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, which opened in May of 2013. Working with international beer experts, the PEI Brewing Company won Gold and Silver Medals at the 2012 Canadian Brewing Awards and a Silver Medal at the 2013 Canadian Brewing Awards.
